Internet Explorer is by default configured to automatically remember the passwords for the website that require log in. But if the browser does not remember passwords, resetting or reinstallation is not the perfect solution. Instead, you need to consider changing some computer settings and addressing issues.
Internet Explorer Setting:
Turn on the IE’s option to automatically remember passwords. For that follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the “Internet option” and click the “Content” tab.
Step 2: Select the “AutoComplete Settings” button.
Step 3: Enable the “Usernames and Passwords on forms “option.
Step 4: Click the “Ok” button and then click “OK” again to save the changes.
Note: If you don’t need passwords to save on every site you visit, click the “Ask Me Before Saving Passwords” option too.
Web page Issues:
For security purposes, sometime a webpage itself not allows flashing ‘remember passwords’ option, for this a page may use the “autocomplete=off” attribute to disallow AutoComplete, or it may stop caching. Both options are commonly used by banks. There is nothing you can do in these cases but type your passwords manually.
User Issues:
Another situation occurs when the user don’t type the password into the Web form. If user copies a password from a text document and then pastes it into a site’s passwords field, there is no such data entered for IE to save. Also, if the user mistypes a password or changes it on another computer or browser, IE will by default use the older one until the user manually enters the correct passwords again.
Public and Network Computer:
Many public computers have AutoComplete Setting disabled by the administrator as it can be used by others. Administrators can also disable AutoComplete Settings option on the all the computer systems using Group Policy settings on a network server. In such case, user won’t be able to turn on AutoComplete in IE except the administrator.
