Scams include defrauding innocent people, irrelevant of the methods
involved. Money is the obvious motive behind running a scam which if goes
undetected can also become huge creating more victims with the passage of time,
without actually letting people realize that they are defrauded.
We at Click4Support intend to make you aware on this aspect.
In technology related scams (as seen to be spawning on the
Internet), the innocent PC users are targeted, who might be facing the common
PC problem, and instinctively. Since problems with Windows OS are pretty
common, tech scam companies have a huge field to play around.
Following are the signs to tell that you have just witnessed
a scam if:
·
You get a call where the caller tries to tell
you that he is calling from Windows Technical Department, Microsoft Support
Services, etc
·
The caller is trying to get remote access to
your system without actually listening to your issue which could be related to
some hardware and not software
·
The caller is pestering you for plans and
package to cover you PC issues
·
The caller tells you that he is expert of something
and you got a problem related to something to his area of expertise (does he
possess gift of Déjà vu?)
·
All what the so-called expert technician is
trying to do is to sell the products he
thinks best but you never heard of them ever
·
He offers vague reply when you inquire about
refund policy
With every new encounter with a fake technical support
provider, you just learn more ways they have thought of robbing PC users of their
money for no (or worst) output at all. You just need to remember one golden
rule: You problem, your call. Everything other than this (including an outbound
call to you) is meant to scam you!
Beware, be secure!
