How to Diagnose a Computer

Just like any other machines, the computers also need to be maintained. But all of us have a lot of work to do today. Therefore, running a computer diagnostics should not be a full-time job. To do it on a routine basis, one needs to get acquainted with all what is involved in the process.

Below mentioned are the computer diagnosis and repair steps to help in diagnosing your computer and help in keeping your PC running smoothly and error-free.

1.      Run a Virus Scan

Perform a virus scan on a daily basis to make sure that your computer is error free and also free from infectious and destructive Malware. There is no benefit of having a best antivirus if it is of no use. So, schedule the software to run a security scan after every few days, most preferably when you are not using your computer.

2.      Check Your Connections

Sometimes the problems are so simple that they don’t even require a computer diagnosis. It can be as simple as a loose connection or an unplugged cord. You may have heard a lot from the computer technicians about the stories of fixing an issue with just plugging the wire back. It may seem obvious, but it's worth checking out before you move on to more time-consuming computer diagnostics.

3.      Clean it Out

It is very natural for a computer to accumulate dirt and dust on it over the time. It is not enough to clean it just from outside. In fact, you should open up your computer occasionally and clean it with a duster to get rid of the fine particle that can get messier over time..  But be cautious! First of all make sure that the room in which computer is placed, is well-ventilated before you start. After that verify that the power cable is removed from the power source. The occasional clean up can work more magic than the most complex PC diagnostics.

4.      Listen for Noises

Today, the new generation computer makes almost no noise while operating. Therefore, if you listen to any whirring, grinding, whining, and clicking, then it could also be a very serious issue. The main reason for this is the falling down of the computer fan- either on the motherboard or on the video card.
Always consult a technician whenever you hear such voices.
