How To Avoid Tech Support Scams

Now a day, tech support is on rise and has become the most popular service among the computer users. But just like everything, it also has a downside. Scammers and swindlers are always willing to rob a person’s bank account and their personal information, taking the undue advantage of the popularity of technical support service companies.

After seeing these scams, the tech support companies want to ensure that their users no more get ripped by these scammers in the name of authenticity.

What scammers do?

The scammers offer fake tech support to take remote control of your computer. It inadvertantly invites them to steal your personal data.

Here are some tips to prevent scams in the name of reputed tech support companies like Click4support

1.      Don’t trust any random call, it could be fake: - The most common way for scammers to make a fool out  you is through fake calls. They will tell you details about a virus on your PC and then offer you an Antivirus for it. Or, they might access your PC remotely, which might lead to identity theft.  If you receive a call telling you about a virus attack on your computer or issues like that, consider going through the problem yourself rather than going for the service without re-checking.

2.      Always double check before giving remote access: - The tech support experts always ask for permission before accessing your PC remotely. So, always make sure that you continuously monitor the screen while the technician is resolving the issue. And if you find anything suspicious, feel free to abort the session immediately.

3.      Always do a little background search: - Today there are so many tech support companies available on internet, but you cannot select just about anyone. Instead, you should do a background search, like information about their online reputation; customer reviews; online scams and frauds about the company; and customer testimonials.

4.      Never share your password details with anyone: - Sometimes, the scammers may ask for your passwords and other personal details. Don’t ever fall in such traps and understand that the enquirer is indeed fake.  One should never give the details even if the technician force you. Indeed, type the password by yourself.

The above will definitely help in avoiding online tech support scams. Apart from that, the computer user can also file a complaint against the scam company so that other people may also get aware and vigilant of these frauds.
