Android Kit Kat 4.4 VS Apple iOS 7

There are two operating systems which are vying for the top position when it comes to mobile apps development. Every year both Android and Apple come up with amazingly fresh operating systems; even their upgrades are way better than others. They are designed to outshine the other one, proving to be amazing mobile platforms for their fans.

War of the titans is what they named it when they were launched-Android KitKat 4.4 VS Apple iOS 7. Both were relatively new when. The fact is that both OS have advantages as well as shortcomings. The design along with valuable features made iOS7 quite an excitement amongst its users. Talking about Kit-Kat, it had added S4 from the house of Samsung Galaxy to its kitty.

Compare and Contrast

·   Apps: Both Google and Apple offer more than 1 million apps via their app stores. iOS steals the show here as it can access files that are piled up in Drop box, iCloud, SugarSync, and Google drive. Whereas KitKat can only access files from Google Drive.

·   Browser-Chrome vs. Safari: Here both the OS share the dais. Although both have differences in terms of browsers,  both have certain features which the other does not have. For example: Chrome utilizes WebM whereas Safari sustains MPEG4 videos.

·  User Interface: Kitkat comes with a new enhanced version if you compare it with its previous counterpart. Both-- its menu and drop down boxes-- have been joined to ease switching between the two. Compare it with iOS7 simple colorful icons grace the look. There is almost a revamp from its previous version.

·  Accessories: iOS7 came with a glowing port to charge the phone. Android continues to use micro USB port to charge. It was easy to charge these phones by using Chinese cables that were easy to pick up online. However, iOS7 (and onwards) made life a little uneasy. Now it only recognizes licensed parts, be it car charger, or cables. So, no more Chinese products to be used with the original phones.

·  Security: This is one thing where you rely more on Apple since it checks and verifies all the apps that it offers via its app store, hence, more security whereas Google fails to do that.

Verdict- The operating systems of both Android KitKat 4.4 and iOS7 had their pluses that were pretty handy. It’s for you to decide ultimately which one do you like better? Is it Android OS or Apple OS? Kitkat or iOS7?
