How to Detect and Delete Virus without Using an Antivirus Software

Using Antivirus software might be an expensive deal for those who can’t buy antivirus software. The good news is that you can detect a virus in your system using Windows command prompt.
Below-mentioned are the steps using which you can locate a virus in your PC without requiring an antivirus:


      1 Press Start button




2. Open run

     3.   Type cmd.exe in the search-bar and tap OK


4.   In the Command prompt, type the drive which you think is infected e.g., dir/p C:



5. Type, s - h *. * /s /d at the end and press ENTER.


6 The command prompt loads all files from your drive. Watch out for any suspicious file, example: Autorun.inf or .exe file.


7  Once you detect the .exe and the autorun.inf, you’ve just found an infected file.


8  Note down the program's name and location.


9 Rename the Autorun.inf as, rar.extension for opening it without activating the virus and close the command prompt.


10 Now, hit Start button and open, My computer.


11. Select the infected drive containing the infected file. Search for the program directory containing autorun.inf


      12Right-click the renamed file and select Delete.



 13.   Select the .exe file and Delete.




     Finally you’ve eliminated the virus from the hard drive of your computer. After following these steps, you can easily get rid of small viruses on your system without requiring an antivirus.
