5 Ways to Fix a Black Screen Displayed on Your System

Solving the problem concerning black screen displayed on your system can be easy as well as hard, depending on the nature of the problem and whether you have a laptop or a desktop. The fixes related to lose cords can be easily fixed. However, black screen displayed on laptop requires the expert services to fix. Try these five ways to fix the problems concerning the  black screen. 

1.    Check Your Cords

If you are using a desktop, examine every cord connected to your monitor. Majority of monitors have two cords. Some may have more than two cords for sound. Check every cord at both the ends to ascertain that they are properly connected. This will solve many of the black screen issues. 


2.    Check out whether your system boots
When your system doesn’t boot it will display a black screen. Thus, make sure that your system, whether desktop or laptop, goes through the whole booting process when your power it on.

Switch on the power button of your system and listen to the sound coming out of your system and check all its LEDs. Watch that all the computer fans are on.  See that the magnetic hard drive, if you have one, is making sound to load Windows/ Mac OSX. Also make sure that the Ethernet cables are flashing lights at the points they connect to your system. If, on the other hand, you have a wireless adapter, see that they have lights on, which means that the wireless adapter is active. 

If the above signs are not displayed by your system, it means that something is not right with your computer and not your monitor. In case you are using Laptop, then it is very hard to fix black screen error in it. In this case, you have to send your system to repair centre.

3.    Try a temporary monitor
This is applicable only for desktops. Use another computer monitor and see whether it is working with your system or not. If it works, then it means that there is a fault in your system. Test every parts and combination of parts on your system and replace the faulty parts. 

4.    Try an install disk
An operating system problem like a faulty display driver may also be the reason that your system is showing black screen error. In such a situation, your monitor will function at the time of boot up process and then it will stop functioning all of a sudden.

On facing this problem, you have to either boot your Windows in Safe Mode or reinstall Windows for changing the driver. However, before doing this you have to ascertain that the problem actually persists. For this you can use Windows Install Disc or Ubuntu. You are not required to install anything. Just run the disc until it shows a desktop. This will make you sure that a faulty video driver is responsible for monitor black screen.

5.    Use a flashlight
The LCD monitors of present times generate images and backlight which lights up those images. However, when you don’t properly use your laptop the backlight stops working before its expiry period.  Date.

It’s almost impossible to solve the problem concerning LCD display for less than the cost of a new display. However, you can fix or get fixed backlight problem if it’s the only thing that is broken. You have to use flashlight to find which part isn’t working.

Turn on your system and monitor and let them finish the booting process. Then point the brightest flashlight at your monitor at the steep angle. If you can view an image like a desktop this means that the LCD display is OK and there is a problem with the backlight. Get the black screen issue fixed by a repair centre.
