Apple adds another Layer of Security for Apple Users

After the recent hacking of iCloud accounts of famous personalities, Apple has added another layer of security for its users all over the globe. This security other than being used for iCloud and other accounts has been added to iMessage and Face Time Services.

Such an additional measure protects users from hackers who by some means might have acquired login Id and password of the user’s device.

Apple, with this move will be providing double layer protection to Apple applications such as iCloud and messaging.

If you are still wondering about Two Step Authentication, read below to learn how this added security is beneficial to you:

Why is Apples Two Step Authentication Required?

With increasing advancement in the field of technology online identity theft along with hacking of personal images and videos has become easier. A hacker no longer needs to steal a mobile phone or another device to gain access to your much guarded files but only an access via internet.

Example of its heart wrenching can be sited from a very recent event where many Hollywood celebrities found their private photos circulating on the internet. Apple Inc, to protect its clients from facing another hacking scandal, has come-up with this Two Step Authentication.

How the Security Barrier Works?

The two step authentication security was launched by Apple to prevent third party admission into another individuals account. It only allows the main account holder of the messaging, iCloud, Video Conferencing, or other account to gain access. Also, to make this security user-friendly and less time consuming, Apples two step authentication comes into action once the users has logged out of the account. The user will have to provide the four digit code sent on their mobile phone from Apple Inc. This provides you with the benefit of protecting your data whenever someone tries to login to your account.

Note:
Registering one another contact number is mandatory for Two Step Authentication as the four digit code will be messaged on your registered number. The registered number can be any number that is being used on any other mobile phone or iPhone. However, while registering a number you should provide a number that either belongs to you or someone that you can trust upon such as your spouse or a family member.

While you register a number, you should know that landline or web-based (VOIP) phone services are not accepted for two-step verification.

Apples Two Step Authentication is a very positive and reliable security process. For more information and guidelines you can get information from Apple Support page.
