How to update Skype in Windows Desktop?

If you are still on an older version of Skype, you would be signed out of Skype automatically and won’t be able to sign in again until you upgrade to the newer version. Simply follow these steps to install the latest version of Skype for Windows.
To check the Skype version:
1.      Sign in to Skype.
2.      In the menu bar, click Help> About Skype

about skype

“Skype can’t connect” This means that your software is out of date and need to upgrade.

Step 1: Click the ‘download the latest version now’ link on the sign in screen. This will launch your browser and you’ll be taken to Skype.com to download the latest version.

Note: A computer will be required that can meet current system requirements to install the latest version of Skype.

Step 2: Click the Get Skype for Windows Desktop button:

Step 3: Click Save to save the setup file to your computer.

Step 4: Once the download gets completed, click Run to start the Skype installation process.

Step 5: Select the language version, then click I agree-next and then follow the on-screen instruction to complete the upgrade process.

Step 6: Once the installation process is completed, select the type of account you would like to sign in.

Step 7: Now, use your Skype Name or Microsoft account to sign in to Skype
