Some tips to diagnose and improve MacBook battery status

MacBook battery problems are quiet common that almost all users face. You may have noticed that your MacBook is not lasting as long as it used to be or it is getting switched off almost a few minutes after being removed from the charger.

However, there are few indicators that tell the MacBook battery status. For example, the one discussed above. If you notice your MacBook is almost discharge just after being removed from the charger or if the battery indicator at the top right corner of the screen never says 100%. It is also a sign that the battery is dying. A good and healthy battery charges completely.

How to diagnose the status of a MacBook battery

To know the exact status of the battery all you need to do is click on the battery icon on the top right corner of the screen. Then you will see a drop down menu that will indicate any of the four status: Normal, Replace Soon, Replace Now or Service Battery.

‘Normal’ obviously indicates that the battery is healthy and functions well. ‘Replace Soon’ is a warning that informs that the battery is not functioning as good as it was.
But the last two statuses: ‘Replace Now’ and ‘Service Battery’ are indications that the battery is about to dead.

Tips to improve battery life of MacBook
1. Dim down the brightness of the screen and set it to a suitable level for the eyes as a lot of battery is consumed by the display screen.
2. Always make it a habit to switch off the Bluetooth when it is not required.
3. Just as Bluetooth, disconnect any USB device if it is not in use.
4. Close programs if they are no longer in use.
5. If you can avoid using many apps simultaneously, you can improve the battery life very much.

As you have read above, the MacBook battery issues can be diagnosed and improved but you also need to take some measures to save the battery life of your MacBook.
